Accel makes a nice short header plug. I run them on my CJ & ran them on my TJ for clearance issues.

All the new stuff came Friday. Pulled the pan off to pull the oil pump to put the arp oil pump shaft in. When i put the pan back on i figured id put on some gasket maker for extra insurance. Started looking at the front seal on the pan and it looked like it didnt touch. Lifted the pan back off and sure enough the pan doesnt even touch the seal. Gasket maker never touched it. Now i dont know what i should do. Its the right seal, and it was touching when i got the motor with that pan on it.

Shorty plugs still are not short enough to clear the heads but they are alot shorter then regular plugs so thats means a smaller dent in the headers.

Touqe convert i have wont work with the flex plate i bought so its looking like im going to have to
buy a new one. I origly want to but didnt want to spend the money. Think im going to get about a 2500 stall. Any one have one for a 700r4.

Its lookin real good. Hope to have it in the truck and going with in the next month. Thats my goal. Get some updated pictures up in the next day or two.

Got my headers to fit. Had to put a big dent in two of the tubes on each side to clear the plugs and wires. Hoping it wont melt the wires. Got the pan on right. Had to put a thicker seal in. Ran the the hose from the fuel pump to the carb. I think the -8 fittings are a little over kill.:tonka: Put in the distbutor, plugs, and wires. Set the rev limiter in my box at 5000rpm. Figured thats not to high not to low.

Put in my painless lockup kit. Also put the t.v. cable in, and my sweat dipstick. Painted the pan and the shield the same blue as the motor.

Ordered all my adapters today. Got all the motor mounts, case adapter, case mount, and sensor fittings though downey. Came to $720. Ordered my power steering pump mount kit and alternator adapter though northwestoffroad. That came to $101. Then ordered my torque converter off of ebay. 2300-2500 stall. That was $185. Ended up spending $1006 today.
Find out who has the fastest shipping. Downey, Northwestoffroad, Or the ebaystore.

Pulling the motor out of my truck this up coming tuesday, and then putting it in the 92 2wd truck. Dream cruise is going to be the last time out with the 4cyl.

Its getting down to all the little things before the swap. Almost ready to go iin.

When you get tired of welding those cracked headers, buy some corvette ram horns, they flow really good, and I've not touched them on my truck since ~2001.

Also fixes clearance problems to the steering shaft.

Only problem is ram horns are center dump, means you cant use conversion motor mounts (which should have been scrapped in the first place)
