Pipe, mbrp makes a nice sound and good performance.
Clutch kit, Better reeds, gut the air box.
If you want to get into the engine...
Mill the heads, port and polish, bore out the carbs.

Do you ride the railroad grades or trails? If you don't do a ton of long pulls try regearing it.

clutch it and jet it. mabey drop one tooth on gearing. mabey a pipe. otherwise just ride it as is, or buy a bigger sled. my 500 fan polaris is topped out about 80mph on glare ice. if the snow is deep 70mph is more common. i cant kill it though. has 11,000 miles on it and the engine has never been opened up.

for the price to rent a sled to ride for a weekend he got this one for the same. its ok that its a fan cooled. we will jsut be making a few runs to the bar up the river for dollar drafts or hooters runs. all will be well. im sure next year he will be looking for another newer and bigger one

x2 on clutch and jets. This is by far the best you can do, most people install pipes and think they are faster because of noise. even if you install pipe it still needs clutch and jetting! Pipe is out in my book, too noisy and annoying on long trail rides..
