Default $130 CJ "rock crawler" Gearbox at Advance Auto

I've been pricing out gearboxes for my CJ for a while now. When I was first looking, there were a few around $150, $160, $180. Lares offered a "rock crawler" power steering gearbox for my CJ but it was well above $200 and I didn't have that much to spend on one. I checked prices again last week and it went down to $130. Not sure if it's being discontinued or if it's just on sale, but at $130 it makes it cheaper than any other one we carry.

Not sure what the difference is in the rock crawler or the standard gearbox as it looks exactly like the stock one that came off my Jeep.

With my discount it came to be a little over $100 for a new rock crawler gearbox

So if you need a new gearbox for a CJ, now would be the time to order it. This was for an 86' CJ with power steering. I'm not sure if they prices dropped for other models... I'd have to check.

im guessing the gears are larger, so you turn the wheel less to get to the stop

gear ratio inside the box. standard gear boxes take forever to go from left to right. im guess the rock crawler gear boxes will go wheel lock to wheel lock much quicker.
