watch from 32.40 to 36.10 at least.

The check and balance we have works well but isn't prefect. As President Jackson has shown the Supreme Court has been over ruled at least once by a sitting President. And remember in 1941 Executive Order 9066 which without due process of law remove American citizens from their home and seized their assets. Imprisoning them with out ever charging them with a crime. Now I 'm not saying our system sucks, but it can fail to protect us from the government when we put to much trust in those who are suppose to be our representatives, not our rulers.
Of course it's not perfect. Fortunately our forefathers had the wisdom to write the Constitution in such a way that it could be changed when the people felt it needed to be. And even then not all of the changes were good and some got rescinded. And yes, there have been some horrible things done by this nation. Things have gotten out of balance before.

But the nation survived. This nation have survived invasions, civil wars, world wars, recessions, depressions, and lots of poor decisions by our elected leaders. I think this nation is strong enough to survive Barrack Obama as well.

I don't have time to watch the movie now. I'll try to get to it later.

Do you think it was running backwards before he got here? If so how did it get that way?

In answer to your question, no. I do not think he will "turn this country around". I think he will move this country forward and to the left. The previous administration took us to the right and got us stuck on a rock (or Iraq). As an "extreme moderate" I would rather we go right down the middle but it seems that lately the best I can hope for is to keep moving forward and not to run a ground on either side.

Yes I do think it was. I think it was a lot of bush but I also think Clinton had a lot to do with it also.

I agree with you. I think we needed to go to Iraq but we have been there long enough. But I don't think Obama is correct with things like Closing down the biggest terrorist interegation camp we have. I also think he is wrong in giving away money that we do not have. Personally I think we should go back to the way it used to be when everything we buy was made in America by American workers. But sadly I do not think that day will ever come. Company CEOs are way to greedy and would rather save make more money by having products made over seas. I also think the borders should be locked down more securely and there should be a lot more guidelines to immagration from other countrys to our country.

What would you like to see happen to this country Bruce?

Maybe not so much it, but the people we have running it, and the idea of two parties.
Maybe they should leave, better yet maybe WE should send them packing.

I agree with you there. The political machines on both side have become so entrenched that they pretty much just operate for their own good rather than the good of the people. I'd like to see us get away from the idea of 2 parties, the difficulty in that is that the 2 party system is not mandated by law but rather a resultant of our laws. In order to get 3 or more viable parties election laws and rules of congress would need to be changed. It may even require changes to the Constitution.

I completely agree with you on this.

They fight for their own good in some type of competition that never has a winner, but all of us (American citizens) stuck in the middle get the losses.
