Yes, very.

As much as I like the elimination of the preexisting condition clause I wondered if it would have this result:

Quote:
This problem was exacerbated because since the early 1990s Maine has required insurers to adhere to community rating and guaranteed issue, which requires that insurers cover anyone who applies, regardless of their health condition and at a uniform premium. These rules—which are in the Obama plan—have relentlessly driven up insurance costs in Maine, especially for healthy people.

The Maine Heritage Policy Center, which has tracked the plan closely, points out that largely because of these insurance rules, a healthy male in Maine who is 30 and single pays a monthly premium of $762 in the individual market; next door in New Hampshire he pays $222 a month. The Granite State doesn't have community rating and guaranteed issue.

So much for free health care, here we have a test run of obama's plan and it had failed terribly, only to cost tax payers millions and that is only one state. It would only drive the entire country deeper into resession or depression. Taxing an already stressed country will only make things worse.

Although similar in some respects, it is not a "test run of Obama's plan". That is such a disingenuous statement.

It is a similar plan that is a huge failure. Why make it an even bigger failure by adding another 49 states to the list?

Mass. seems to be failing also.

And should we mention Boston Med. suing Mass. over health care payments.

Quote:
The suit comes as Congress looks to Massachusetts as a potential model for overhauling the nation’s health care system. Even before the suit, the state’s fiscal crisis had cast doubts on the law’s sustainability

So true, can we learn from our mistakes?

I guess we cannot call it obama's plan, he only borrowed it from the other guy. But if he see's that it does not and will not work why put all the effort into something that will fail.
Or is it his plan for the country to fail and all become dependent on the government
