Default My lab was mauled by a pit bull

My black lab was in our yard tonight when a neighbors friend had a put bull in his yard. It ran across the road and starting attacking my dog. There was no typical dominance stance between them it was straight for my dog. My dog's ear was ripped open and had a puncture wound in its stomach. I am a dog person and have had dogs all of my life but pit bulls are dangerous.

That sucks man , I feel for ya. Is your dog going to pull through ? Did ya call animal control and have it put down ? Maybe the sheriff too and have the owner put down for raising a dog to be aggressive.

They aren't dangerous, they just randomly attack people and other dogs for no reason, but they are good dogs.

x 1 million!

Those dogs are great as pets and everyone should own 6 or 7 and let them roam free around other pets and little kids!

And BTW, I really feel for you and your dog, I would put a cap in the pit bulls ass ASAP!!!!!

I especially like it when pitbull owners say my dog would never do that.

Dumbasses. They all can and some do. Why take the risk? It could be your own kid that gets mauled.

My dad is an attorney and he has had no less than 10 cases about pitbulls and it is almost always a member of the family, friends or neighbors.

I have boxers and if they were known to be dangerous like pitbulls I would make sure to keep them locked up in my house or backyard.

The owners dont seem to be dealt with properly or it doesnt get the publicity it needs.

On a lighter note:

I laugh when I see black guys with a pitbull on a chrome chain the size that would make Mr T struggle.

ive had 3 pit bulls , and never had an issue , ive got 2 kids also , my current pit bull is around 6-7 months old and i walk him without a leash with no issues , its all on how you raise them , i even bring my pup around my moms alaskin malamute ( shes very teritorial ) and my pup could care less , everyones gonna have there own thoughts and opinions about the breed but if we had stricter punishments on people who use and abuse these dogs i think they would be less popular and youd hear less about them and in the end peoples fear for these dogs would go away as well , ( people like mike vic who has 100s of these dogs fighting and killing them should not be able to get out of jail in 1 year and damn near have a 2 year contract handed to him ) thats not a punishment thats a reason to forget about what he did , . , im sorry for what happened to your dog man but blame the owner and not the breed

I am sorry to hear about your dog, I hope he is ok. But all pit's are not mean, a good friend of mine had one for years, with no trouble, she loved the kids. My parents now have pit mix and she is one of the best dogs they have had, she is 5 now.

The dogs ear will never heal. Sorry for the thread about pit bulls again. I guess I just wanted to vent. To me a pit bull earns its rep I know they are not all bad but its like any other dog breed, just like not all labs are good duck dogs.

I hate it when people let their pet tigers randomly maul people. I've owned a couple of lions, tigers, and a few bears, and they have all been great around kids, pets and old people. Tigers have a bad rap because of a few irresponsible owners making the species look bad. I'm tired of hearing regular cat owners bitching that tigers are vicious man eating killers when there are only a few hundred examples of that ever happening. Tigers are cats too and they should be given the respect they deserve.

That's just stupid. I wouldn't walk my lab (who was afraid of water) without a leash. You're just asking for trouble
