I've seen that boat racing on the speed channel a few times and it is really fun to watch. If they go into a corner to hard they slide into the bank and it's instant roll-overs into the grass.

Those things rock! It's a 8 to 12' jet drive boat (think jet-ski technology) with a chevy 400 sb bolted up to it. They are supposed to pull something like 6 G's in the corners.

I want 1!!!!!!

Frickin' crazy. I forget what the name for it is - there is one. I saw TV coverage of it once.

Edit: They're called Superboats or JetSprint boats. http://www.v8superboats.com.au/

I'd say the guy in the passenger seat does the same thing they do for rally, tells him what he's supposed to do.

No way I could react that fast, those boats are insane.

I have a new respect for these boats after this weekend. I met a guy who has one. I took this picture of his boat last year at Hardy:

I ran into him at Gun Lake on Saturday and got to talk to him. I was surprised to hear that he actually used it how it was meant to be used and raced it. I didn't realize what they really put the boats through. He commonly jumps land and logs and carries a come a long with him. That is his backup plan when he gets hung up on a big log or launches it too far up on shore. I didn't realize that these boats were capable of running in 4" of water, and as you can tell in the video, he does less than that on occasion. Basically, he runs where canoes can't.

Here is some video of him in Colorado:
