Default Another question

I lost the steering on my new to me boat when getting it to the trainer.

I am not positive if it is hydralic or cable steering.

I took a minute long peek today and it looks like there is a piston.
With roughly a 1/2" line coming out of one end.

I havent tried to force it by swinging the out drive. will that help or hurt?

Any direction you guys could give me would be helpful

Oh, the boat is an old lady.
1972 slickcraft 19' 6" closed bow.

72 is probably still cable driven..... my 68 Slickcraft is cable.

Is there a power steering pump bolted to the motor?
