Duc has a cool shirt on. But his safety skills suck.

Christ....nobody listens, do they.....he HAD his seatbelt on...

He had to take it off eventually so the blood would flow back into his extremities as the extraction was a little more complicated and longer than expected (no easy way to get a line down there on the correct angle).

Well, the seatbelt thing has been established and addressed. The video was edited together and not in real time, hence the seatbelt off. I could not get it back on in that position. We sat there for quite some time as my winch decided it didn't want to work for some strange reason after we unspooled it and got it all set up.

Sticking my foot out was a big NO-NO. I know better and was taught better, etc.. regarding keeping your arms and legs inside. It happened kind of fast and I didn't have time to think about it. It was a reflex or knee-jerk reaction on my part. I don't know how else to explain it. Maybe if I found myself (my Jeep) in that position more often, I would have maintained better composure. It was a mistake and fortunately neither one of us got hurt. I'll do better next time, but hopefully there won't be a next time I don't want to do that again.

I wish that place was still open. That was a nice little area to kill some time...and so close to home. Did you ever make it out there?

Yep, I know exactly the line you are talking about. Dang, not a good spot to have all that carnage

I would have never tried that spot if I hadn't just made it up that exact same hill a few weeks ago. This time it looked a bit more knarly and washed out, but another guy in our group made it up just before I attemped it, so I thought I had a chance taking the right line up. Difference was that he was turning 39.5" tires and and LS-1 to power up.

Yup, I agree. I had 3" harness's & hated them because they were so uncomfortable so I went back to a factory retractable. After several frustrating times with it I just went back to a 2" 4 point harness.

same here, had problems with the factory belt. something as simple as stopping on the trail and then not being able to get it back on due to a hill on the trail that never flattened out before the obstical. I went to harnesses and never looked back.

I didnt see the video so I cant comment on that but as long as everyone learns from the mistakes before someone gets hurt, that's all that matters.
