Default Clayton Oklahoma, Green Acres 07/09

Wow what a weekend!! For those of you that like a challenge and are looking for something other than mud you owe it to yourself to head down to OK....heck i'd be more than happy to show you around down there, just let me know

Friday we ran:

KT's Climb
Jeff's Ledges
Green Mamba
Green Mamba Extension
Black Sheep Blvd
Gasper Goo

Carnage from Friday:

front bumper, front fender and slave cylinder on Scotty's truck (deer)
14b Shaft
14b Detroit

My pics are from Friday/Sat am repairs...

Just your everyday, run of the mill broke 14b shaft

We got a late start on Saturday - the 14b shaft that broke Friday afternoon took out the detroit so some lincoln locker action was needed before we hit the backside of the mountain.

While we were welding the locker up with my buddies rediwelder his jeep starts making funny noises, next thing you know...

Best guess is his upper links bottomed out sometime before he had his bumpstops installed....got a new balancer from Slim for $20, installed and fired the rediwelder back up...

Got Willie CJ squared away and headed out to Gobbler's Knob....GN consists of 3 individual trails, Ate My Lunch, Plucked and Redneck Millionaire Blvd....by far one of the best trails I have been on...Huge boulders, slabs, vertical climbs, you name it, its there...

Carnage from Satuday:

(2) sheared a hi-steer arms
broken lincoln locker
harmonic balancer
broken steering cyl fitting
ripped off steering cyl mount

Some pics and vids from Saturday

you know you and your gang are welcome anytime!

Add in a Hot Springs trip and you easily have a full weeks worth of wheelin...or just stay in Clayton (1 day at Mr. Frielings and 2-3 at Green Acres)

Slims Slope is on the back of the mountain also and its pretty much a 5 hr trail by itself...then there's the bounty trail....been told to set aside a day for that too...

Who would have thought I would have all this sweet wheelin so close when I moved down here?

Think I need to move that way! Wheeling looks great. How fast would I break my CJ down there?

Just don't like Tornado's.

Well all 3 rigs that broke were CJ's on 1 tons if that tells you anything

There's mellower trails to run that are alot of fun and can be done in rigs with 33-35" tires on D44's, etc. There are typically optional lines or bypasses, so you can go around the big stuff if you want - we usually run them, but skipped them this trip so we could have time to hit the "big" trails...never fails someone breaks something simple that prevents us from hitting the hard stuff...so we just went straight to it this trip

Tornado's and the summer's 100+ deg temps are definitely no bueno...the storms down here are crazy - never seen so much lightning or rain (easy to get 2" of rain in one storm) in my life...

oh yeah and co's are still hiring down here...unfortunately you cant say that in MI right now...
