A $5,000 hammer is nothing compared to a $2,531,600 2 pound frozen, water injected, ham.

At least you can use the hammer more then once.

This type of waste has been going on since our government was formed.
The ham is no surprise.

EDIT: I thought muslims didn't eat pork

In all reality, I'm hoping that whoever drew up the plans forgot to put in the quantity of product.

I didn't notice mention of an RFP to look up and see a contract detail.

RFP = request for proposal or ITB = invitation to bid

Either way, a public announcement was posted somewhere for companies to review and respond. I didn't notice a RFP or ITB number on the contract so somebody could reference the scope of work quoted.

Yea, I am going to assume this is money going to a company that produces a 2 pound ham as a product. Not 2 million just for 1 ham

Yep, post up the incomplete story, make an assumption and the sheep will swallow the story.

Oh, and at least you can see where the money is going (albeit not all details), that is some transparency we have not really seen much of before.
