Default SCBA tank question

I have a yellow kevlar (not sure) tank that is out of certification.

Could a welding supply store recertify it for use with co2?
What type of fittings would I need to convert this to a co2 power tank?

I know someone on here works for a welding store but, I can't remember who.

I called a local shop and they said they did not have the fittings.
More likely he did not want anything to do with it.

So, I thought someone here might have the hook up.

Most of the shops work on an exchange basis. If you bring that in to exchange for a full co2 they should take it.

Now some dont care if its out of hydro, but if they do I belive they charge 15-25 bucks extra so they can have it tested.

So, a dive shop can fill it with compressed air to 4500 psi for $5 and certify it for $28

Would there be a advantage to go to co2? Any idea on cost of adapters or price to fill tank?

You can go much farther with CO2 since its stored as a liquid.

I have no idea if it can be done to your tank.

All I know is when I was looking into a co2 setup praxxair told me to bring in any air tank for exchange to save me money.
