So who's the next coach of Lions? I say maybe Herm Edwards from the Jets.
Will Marriucci ends up in New Orleans? Just a guess

I knew after watching the crappy display on thanksgiving that there would be some reaction. The lions nationally embarrassed us.. normally they just embarrass us

This was the wrong reaction in my book. Millen should be the one fired. He cleaned house when he came into the GM position and hasn't been able to do dick with the money the Ford's have been spending. Putting your coin in the WR, TE, and QB positions whilst sacrificing the main offensive line as far as talent is not the way to win games.

It isnt the coaches fault... if the Fords would quit using the Lions as a tax write off and acyually care what the team did then we would be a better team. Until then... same old story. i think Lions should be sold to Iliatch.

This is my favorite quote from the article

"Millen hired both Mariucci and his predecessor, Marty Mornhinweg, and drafted or signed most of the players currently on the Lions -- and Detroit is an NFL-worst 20-55 since 2001. Millen, a former NFL linebacker and TV analyst was given a five-year extension before this season."

with a record of 20 and 55 what the heck are they doing giving him a five year extension

When you have 5 first round draft picks on offense and you can't average a offensive touchdown a game the coach has to take some of the blame. I've seen teams compensate for poor pass blocking thru play calling, just not by Mariucci. The thing that sticks out in my mind with him was last years Dallas game. The first drive we ran right thru the defense on the first drive. The second drive we went 4 and out, 1 batted pass, 1 dropped pass and one bad pass. The third drive we went 4 and out, 1 8yrd run and 2 dropped passes. Jones had 70 yds running on the first drive and we abondoned the run? That's not Millen's call or Harringtons. I do think we should get rid of Millen though because Mariucci and Morningwig were his calls.

You know, you can have the best WR's and QB's in the NFL, but if your offensive line in general is shit, you aint going to score.

What I can't believe is we are actually talking about the Lions, and who's fault it is that they suck......they have always sucked.

You can also call plays that compensate. I have seen the O-Line play good and pick up blitz's and what not. When your play calling goes into the opposing teams strong spot of the "D" that is piss poor play calling. Parcell's doesn't look at the line and say "our left side isn't holding up lets have Bledsoe run a play where he rolls to the left". When we keep getting into somebody's backfield they set up a screen behind the guys that just blew past thier line. Seems to work good against us.

i dont really think its the coach, but rather the players giving a poor effort.
