i have noticed f-150s arent using the 31 spline 8.8. it seems they havent been since around 2000 or so. what are they using now? it looks like a dana shape to the cover but i really dont know.

they still offered the 8.8 after 2000, just majority got the 9.75

the front axles in the f150's are also 8.8s

Is the 9.75 stronger than the 8.8?

I have 8.8s front and rear in my 02. I believe you can get ARBs for them.

good idea, lincoln lock the dif on a DD truck. its too new and too nice to do that to. he was really hoping for a quiet locker but a locker is defiantly better than welded since it will be on the street. he does a lot of off road for work too.

But they are high pinion so you can't use the gearsets for the rears.
