Default the wife hase a 2000 grand cherokee make a nose

hi when u speed up or down it howls i put new wheel bearings in the front end and all new bearings in the pinion. Can it be the drive shaft or transfer case .... if anyone can help it would be appreciated. By the way it is a 4.7 V8.

Id check the u-joints in the drve shafts/axle shafts.

Did you check/inspect the spider gears? I had a rear end that howeled pretty bad, turned out to be the spiders.

Noises are hard to diag without actually hearing it. But don't forget to check the tires. If you can't see anything you could aways rotate them and see if your noise changes.

Mine is doing this however its because its the all wheel drive model (quadratrack II) and the front and rear tires aren't worn evenly. Causes the t-case to howl bad under accel.

ours does the same thing...replace the wheel bearings, and it started doing it again then randomly stopped...

I actually should have updated this. Found that it was the front pinion nut being loose. The 2000's had the old crap style drive shaft in the front, and got swapped out a lot to the newer 01-04 style shaft. The nut, if not properly torqued back down, will back off and start making noise.
