Religion = Ignorance + wishful thinking x fear of death + self centeredness. I think religious people need to get over themselves. I share the love of existance they do, but i'm willing to accept that it ends. You're basically buying into a lie that you're in some way immortal. While appealing, it's very self decieving. I think people would appreciate life a whole lot more if they stop and realize that this is it, and enjoy it. I understand that it doesn't seem fair, with all the "living a virtous life" and all, but you need to realize that no matter how much you work to contribute to the world, your biggest contribution will be as fertilizer. A pretty sad truth, which makes it so easy for weak minded people to delude themselves. Rant over

You may be right. I still believe in something, I just can't shake it. I don't really buy into the whole heaven and hell thing but I get the feeling there is a supreme being/life force/all knowing hamster named Ralph.

Seriously, if you are comfortable in your beliefs(God, no God, space gerbil) then who cares what other people think.

Everybody at work laughed when I showed them where the article was.

Apparently there is a difference of opinion. Probably has to do with which radio talk shows you listen to.

Actually, the three people I listen to are Paul W. Smith, Mark Levin, and Rush Limbaugh. They all happen to be religious, so that would go against what I listen to.

So obviously you co-workers need to get out more, and experience other countries reporting!

If your Grandmother was a faithful servant of the Lord then He did help her. She has eternal life.

You're not the first person who was angry at God and won't be the last. Once you "get it" it becomes really simple to understand, although sometimes difficult to articulate to others. I believe that all humans are born with an empty spot in their souls and only God can fill that spot. Some people (myself included) try to fill that empty spot with booze, drugs, hate, sex, material possessions, power, etc. etc. but it will never be the same. I do not fear death, not one bit and that's the Truth. I also don't dwell on the mourning when someone I love dies. If they followed the rules of the Lord our God then they will have everlasting life. That isn't something to mourn.

Some people cannot seem to follow simple rules and refuse to be obedient to any one, especially God. How sad. I truly feel sorry for those people who don't have the satisfaction in faith that I have. It is a wonderful thing.

No religion does not = No morals. We're all in this world at this time together, which we're lucky for, but I decide what's right and wrong in my life, based on whether or not I'd be able to sleep well. For example, if some oxygen thief decides to violate my sister in any way, I would probably decide it's more appropriate to slit his throat than to let our government fail at prosecuting him, or "rehabilitating" him

Umm, because I'm pretty sure neither you or steveo have actually added anything logical to a thread on this website. Instead you show off your wonderful vocabulary that normally just involves four letter words.

For me religion is ok. Church is what gets me. Church is nothing more than organized crime with the Pope being the Godfather. I love it when the Catholic church finally recognizes something obvious like the Earth rotates around the sun and not the other way around. They provide the funny when they speak about such things.

If someone is religious, great for them just don't push that on me. Don't look down upon me, don't look at me like i need "saving". Likewise if someone doesn't believe. Keep it to yourself.

My wife attends a Catholic church on occasion. They beg for money more then the damn NRA. All they care about it money. I can't imagine how much they guilt people into giving. Plus all the tax breaks they get, members often volunteer. I need to start my own church.

If a person believes, good. All they need is a book and a belief, not a damn church.

I took a quick look at my posts, I don't quite understand how four letter words like: Call, Have, Your, Work, Wait, From, That, Will, Nope, Head, Only, Than, Link, Orce, Gone, or They, can ruin your thread.
