this high points...

"Scientists say Ida - squashed to the thickness of a beer mat by the immense passage of time - is the most complete primate fossil ever found.

With her human-like nails instead of claws, and opposable big toes, she is placed at the very root of human evolution when early primates first developed features that would eventually develop into our own.

Another important discovery is the shape of the talus bone in her foot, which humans still have in their feet an incredible 70 million lifetimes later.

Ida was unearthed by an amateur fossil-hunter some 25 years ago in Messel pit, an ancient crater lake near Frankfurt, Germany, famous for its fossils."

Let's see, it isn't April 1st is it?

...human-like nails instead of claws, and opposable big toes...

I noticed the other day my dog has two round eyeballs that she sees out of. Then I looked in the mirror and noticed that I also have two eyeballs. I think I actually might be descended from a canine of some kind.

I was skeptical about it due to where the article was posted, but its getting a lot more press today - NT Times, National Geopraphic, History Channel... Just generally interesting, regardless. It even made the Google homepage logo and is on display at rhe American Museum of Natural History in New York at the moment.

The scientific name is kind of funny, though: Darwinius masillae.

The google logo looked like a squashed turd with a monkey on it. I hadn't seen the news yet though

hmmmmmmmm, ................ I still don't think that I am going to throw away 42 years of belief, just to jump on that band wagon.

Oh, and proof of a "missing link"................I think that was my c++ prof in college. Too scary to even post pictures....

Uhh, I would rank Sky news ahead of the NY times. They're the equivalent of a CNN or fox news.

I thought it had been around for a while. I'm Glad that they Finally found something resembling a Transitional Fossil. You would think with all the Literally Trillions of Adatpations that it would take to get our diverse Animal Kingdom that there would be more of them in the Fossil Record. But, As always, If you give a Few million years, Anything is possible.

Come on Dave, let's hear it..

1. Carbon dating is totally false

2. the aborted non-baby horse is a computer generated model made in 2007

4. Kane and abel had sex with their mom, who is our ancestors

5. the snake lost its legs

6. jesus made the earth in 7 days, and then noah and his posse loaded up all the baby animals (including polar bears and penguins ) and then floated around for a while, and boom, here we are.

Good point. But I would rather fight abortion than aids, at least with aids people get natural ramifications for bad decisions. With abortion there is no justice in any way.
