Default Old School Sledding + Downhill Skiing + Insanity = Airboarding

I was flippin through one of my health mags this morning and I found an article about winter sports and they had this new one out that seems like it would take me a lil convincing or at least a or two....

Quote:
Lying chest down, with your legs extended behind you and your hands gripping the handles, you turn by shifting your weight and directing the two runers, which provide edging capabilities, on the bottom of the sled. You stop by turning 90 degrees, just as with skis. Because it's small and weighs only 6lbs, its easy to tote in a backpack. So you can snowshoe up some epic, quiet terrain, then fill the silence with screams of delight.

I dunno if a redneck would spend $250 for the adult sized airboard.

You wont see them on slopes in the US... back country only and if they hike it there, unless a specific park is opened for them. No worries here, though I would try it.

That looks like it would really hurt to land hard after a big jump. Right on the chest/stomach leaving you gasping for air.

Yeah anyone who has ever done any extreme tubing can tell you what an impact can do for the air that supposed to be in your lungs. Your legs are much better at absorbing said impacts
