Even with the " it's always packed" comment doesn't mean your making money.
The National Restaurant Research shows that the average restaurant makes only 5 cents on the dollar in profit.
Tuff business, especially in a seasonal area.
This may be true, but I find it hard to believe when i go to a bar that is always packed, and I walke out with at least a $50 tab everytime that the owner is hurtin, espescially considering that there are hundreds of other people pullin $50 tabs all day long.

I think that is exactly what Pizzaman is saying; you're holding up the loosing side of the business with your overpriced alcohol.

I work for Tiara yachts and we are hurting. Starting after next week we have 5 weeks off so they can try and get boat orders. I can belive that people just stay docked as much as the bigger yachts and sport boats coat is fuel.

You have no idea what the overhead could possilbly be. Think of the insurance, the cost of the liquor license. Some drinks may be profitable, but others and alot of food items have food costs of over 40-50 % Add that to utililities, rent, taxes, amongst others you would be suprised.

I analyze businesses in restaurant industry. It's not what it used to be.

Well...Jack's has been open for a few weeks. I went up there the other day. There were about 10 people in the bar area. The service was not very good...I thought it was the bartender's first night (it was his 3rd week). I hope they get the kinks out before the busy season.
