ive got a smittybuilt on my s10.. it's a bit slow but gets the job done.. also the remote is junk ! I just had my 3rd one sent to me cause the rocker switches keep sticking would be easy enough just to replace the switch itself which i think ill do when this one F's up.. and ive heard that the solenoids like to shit out which is 70 bux to replace it.. i fried mine on accident when the controller wire got nicked by the winch cable but they sent me a new one free of charge.. all in all their customer service is the best ive seen around.. but their winch could use some improvements.. but for the price it's like a sore weiner "you can't beat it"

^^No wonder you couldn't pull my ass out of that mudpit with the winch. Wasn't a WARN. (thanks again).

So I don't hijack the thread with my non-sense and ruin the chances of getting pulled out...I've heard just about all of the above. Only other thing I can add is the bolt's shipped with Smittybilt's are crap and rust within a week, so you'll need to go and buy a few grade 8's at ACE. Great for the occasional off roader.

i bought the 8k and i have no issues with it. I like it. its faster than i thought it was going to be. I pulled a sami with a v-8 and 38's or bigger tires on it didnt hesitate at all. and i have mine on a tracker.

The Optima red top is not the best choice of Batterys for powering a Winch. One thing you need to do is to keep your rpms up around 14-1800
when operating the winch under load
Cheers.
