Default painting plastics.

Was thinkin about changing the color of my plastics on my 400Ex to black.. but new plastics run 400+ will that Krylon Fusion stuff stick to them at all ? i know it didnt stick for shit on my Rock crawler toy... or is there a way to actually Dye the plastic ?

i guess if you wanted to paint it with a actual gun you could scuff them and add a flex agent to your base coat and they should hold up decently. or you could just buy a single stage kit and spray it up. it should be easy really. anything out of a rattle can is gonna be toast after a few times out anyways. as for dying the plastic, im sure it could be done but not sure how. unless you just bought some dye and maybe bleached the plastics. im kinda talking out of my ass though. if you need someone to spray them, let me know, ill hook it up

I've seen a few that seemed to cover well and flex reasonably well. However, I haven't seen one that tolerates scrapes without looking really crappy.

So, if you're gonna ride routes or Huron Trail all the time it'll be fine. Otherwise, new plastic may be in order.

i wana go from red to black.. 400EXs never came in black until like 05.. mine's a 00'


there are aftermarket plastics in black but like i said they're expensive..

well i guess i didnt think that 259 for the complete black plastic kit was too bad but anyway ebay has some deals if ya look

huh there was a 400 ex stolen just up the street from me?????

but really i used rattle can bed liner after scuffing plastic then shoot it color of choice held nice
