Default CJ7 parts-Delete

Im trying to motivate my dad to put his 86 CJ7 back together that he completely took apart a few years ago, theres not a single bolt holding anything. So Im trying to find some parts for him, he lives in sterling heights. Looking for a body tub, leaf springs, maybe a wiring harness, rear axle (he has a AMC 20), also maybe hood and fenders. But mainly the body and springs for now.

I have couple hoods and maybe a complete wiring harness.
What rear axles are you looking for?

44 would be nice if I could find it, but its getting the old 258 back in there, I was just going to see if I could convince him to upgrade to a better rear.

O, and ingition parts. My brother and I bought him a MSD billet distributor, coil, wires and 6a offroad box a long time ago so he threw out everything stock. Im not sure if there are any stock parts that would be needed.

Well I have this ignition shit that came off my 258 when I put on the HEI dist just sitting around if needed.

As for the axle, an AMC 20 will be stronger than a D44 if the 2-piece shafts are replaced with 1-pieces and the tubes are welded (4 separate half inch long welds around the tube per side) to the center chunk. May be a more economical solution than sourcing a D44...

This is true when speaking of the ring & pinion design, but I would hesitate to say that about the axle as a whole without a simple truss in addition to the stitch welding. I agree in general - pick up a 1-pc shaft kit, do the welding work, and don't worry about it.

PMing you about the tub.
