I think Mastercraft switched over to Chevies in the early 90's. I know for certain that the 94 was Chevy.

The only one I have had any experience with is an older Supra, and it was Ford powered.

It's really a crap shoot, nautique used both I believe. I know my dad's got a ford and the newer big blocks are all chevy 454 496 or 502.

Regardless the motor is not what makes the ski boat, its either a big block or small block chevy or ford, way too comparable to argue about.

Its the hull construction and fit and finish that you need to look at.
