Default disappointed

Climbed up into the attic yesterday to check the live traps for squirrels and woke up a raccoon that's been living up there. Went downstairs, grabbed my .22 air rifle and proceeded to shoot the damn thing in the head...about 10 times before it died.

Lesson learned, I'm buying a bigger livetrap. My attic insulation is ruined (from raccoon shit) and needs replaced, but I still took no pleasure in killing that damn thing.

I was in my attic - not looking for things that will pass through the animal, the roof, and into a person or whatever else is outside. I need to push a bit more energy w/o shooting holes in my house.

I immediately buried it.

Take it to the grocery store so they can make real food out of it.

Dick. I know how destructive they are, i know how they can transmit disease, but they look like little dogs to me - and I wouldn't shoot little dogs.

I think I changed my mind on shooting other ones - a couple of those shits had a fight outside the house at 3am and then the dogs wouldn't settle down.

That's a tough thing. I take no pleasure in killing animals but you have to do what is in your best interest sometimes.
