Default Brake Question

I was looking at a gooseneck trailer that is for sale near me. The axles are home made with either 3/4 ton or 1 ton Ford rear axle outers. So they have the stock brake setup still on them which is currently not hooked up. Is there a fairly easy way to get these setup to be used as trailer brakes? Either by using the existing brake setup or by converting them over to an electric system? Any info would be great. Thanks.
