Default 302 from 3.0 swap

what would be involved in a swap into a 97 ranger..I'm not looking to do mud, or rocks just go fast and hit some jumps with a prerunner. looking for advice as far as stability and security goes. also i heard of using a T400 trans. or a built c4,or c6 does anyone have any opinions on either?
thanks.

so i have a couple fairly built 302's from a couple of my race cars..just curious if theres anything you'd recommend i switch out, like carb wise or my personal feeling is that i should run TBI or EFI but i would really like some other opinions...it will definitely be beat up hard.

Since you're planning on bouncing it around pretty hard, I'd do my best to go with TBI or EFI.
