Default Brazillian Ford.

I just bought a 1987 Ford CF7000 with a 6.6 diesel in it. This thing goes down the road awesome and is in much better shape than my old 68 Ford C8000. I guess I'm wondering if any of you out there on the interweb have any experience with this truck and/or engine.

I can't believe the forum with the most "know-it-alls" in the world don't have any experience with this vehicle.

Medium duty truck. I've heard some good and bad things about the 6.6 motor and was just wondering if anybody around here had any experience with them.

I sorta need this truck. If you are willing to do some work I have a grreat running 1968 COE C8000 Ford with a 17' grain box and a Cat 1150 diesel engine. The frame is bent (bad) from when I overloaded it with dirt when I started building my house in the fall. The thing runs great and gets 9.5-10 mpg with lots of power for pulling stuff. Engine needs a rear main but that is not the end of the world. I was going to save this truck by repairing the frame but I found the other truck at a good price.

A good friend of mine is the mechanic at a large tree service in Saginaw. He has (had?) a Brazillion Ford bucket truck, he said run away fast. Especially the brake system. He sent it to the auction a couple times, and it came back.

I've heard some horror stories about the air over hydraulic brake system. Mine has a full air brake system so everything is pretty standard.

I've been using this truck alot lately and so far so good. The powerband of the motor is very narrow but if you keep it in the sweet spot it pulls nice. This thing gets pretty good fuel mileage too.
