Default F250 Door Light Switch

Has anyone needed to replace one of these yet? It's really tiny and it's not located in the door jamb. I'm assuming that it's built into the latch assy, but can someone please confirm this before I start tearing into it?

2002 Superduty.

Thanks!

yea, these just get packed with grease and dirt from the latch, and they stick in, which is the position they are in when the door is open, so the dome light stays on, etc...

clean em right through the latch without taking anything apart, works at least 95% of the time....but if you do need to change one, its pretty easy, remove the door panel, unplug the switch, and then turn it 1/4 turn (as oposed to 2/8 turn, or 3/12 turn) and it comes right out...

Use brake cleaner then use a dry lubricant. That way you don't collect dirt on the latch.

I do this with my F-250, it is funny how just a little dirt makes that switch not work.

mine are Fed up too... do I just spray it straight into the door latch, or do I have to aim up or down or?
