yep.

for a time there I was trying to talk him out of a old chassie in one of the barns. it was one of Art Arfons original V12 drag cars. someone stole it for scrap

he was one crazy dude! I used to spend the summer with friends that pulled tractors. I remember a story about him on a motorcycle with a big motor and he put a parachute on his back to help stop it. only thing he forgot was how to keep himself on the bike when he pulled the chute!

yea that would be the one of 7 bikes called Bloody Mary. I know he used 327 Chevies in most of them. they were dirrect drive to the ground. the last one that is together was down in Florida and the guy had E.J. come take it for a spin a couple years back. then he owner tried it...bad idea. I don't know if the guy died, but he was hurt really badly for his trouble.

as for his tractor stuff a bunch of germans bought up all the V12 Allison stuff in this country a while back so they could compete over in Europe. I know he took a trip to China to look at a bunch of P51 stuff that was sitting by the Gobi desert in the hopes of salvaging engines. there was even talk of trying to fly the planes out at one point they were in such good shape.
