Default diesel smell inside cab

so right now im driving a 2005 F-350 with the 6.0L diesel, and lately i have noticed that it smells like diesel inside the cab. i dont think its on anything inside so i think it is seeping in somewhere and it doesnt seem to increase the faster i go either.

anybody else have this problem?

sounds like you have a leak in the exhaust up by the y pipe or up pipes. Look for soot buildup on your bellows on the uppipes off from your manifold. They may be cracked.

Does it smell like diesel exhaust or raw fuel?

This is happening with my brothers 7.3 right now and we found alot of fuel sitting on top of the engine. We than we have it narrowed down to the o-rings on the fuel filter drain. Ours is raw fuel.

I would look to see if you can see any fuel sitting somewhere on the engine.

That was going to be my first suggestion. I had a problem with the filter gasket leaking when I got my truck. A new filter and gasket and some time to let the valley dry up fixed mine.

I also get some exhaust smell in the cab now and then but if you get the wind blowing the exhaust back towards the HVAC intake I dont really think theres anything you can do about that...

check to see if you turbo boot has a crack or tear. I had the same problem with the smell and that was my problem.

Get rid of the K&N they are the suck on turbo diesels.
66nick66 is the smell raw fuel or exhaust???
raw fuel= look for fuel leaks on the engine like was said already.
exhaust smell= look for carbon deposits at manifolds, up-pipes, down pipe, egr.
