Default Gorilla Blue Steel synthetic winch cable

Any thoughts Gorilla Blue Steel 5/16" x 92' for my winch on my XJ? This stuff is about 1/3 the price of Amsteel and I don't want to pay the extra if I don't have to.....of coarse, I don't want 1/3 the quality either!

they are pretty close to the same as am-steel. My financial adviser (aka my wife) wouldn't let me pony up for am-steel after she did a search and found the bluesteel, so that's what I ended up with. it is made of the same fiber as am-steel, the only difference that I have seen is the is the attaching point to the winch itself, and it doesn't come with an abrasion guard, which I ordered from masterpull for $6. I have made about 10 pulls with it so far, 1 was a 3/4 ton dodge on 33's stuck in a ditch, and I am pretty happy with it right now. I have heard that the bluesteel doesn't hold up to UV as good as the am-steel but I put a cover on my winch. I'll keep you posted on the long term

newbiejpr, you bought MP rock guard for $6? Was it at a garage sale?
