This is my junk. 06' 2500 HD, pretty much stock, with the exception of the Magnaflow exhaust, but it gets the job done. Double as a dune toy when you crash your shit at Silver Lake too.

My 500 rwhp race tune tows great but I just cant help but cringe when I roll into it with a trailer so it'll get a more conservative power level for next year via EFI Live too.
I have a 2005 (lly) and I was just wondering how you guys keep your egts low enough to use that kind of power. I have a predator programmer and a 4" silverline exhaust. On the 60 hp economy tune I can heat them up in a hurry when towing.

probably all in the tuning. I also have the 4"MBRP which I'm sure helps.

I really can't get mine too hot on the tow setting (80hp extra) when towing my rig/trailer which weighs about 7500#. it maxes out probably around 1250-1300*

now the hot setting is a different story. I can tow with it (if I don't care about fuel comsumption ), but only here in the midwest. it would get too hot pulling larger grades like in the mountains.

I DD with the hot tune which is around 580-590hp (about 485ish at the rear wheels)

I ran the predator for a while before any other tunes were available, it did seem to runn hotter than the othrs for the output it had. Do you still have your converter in? That could be worth 100 degrees alone. I have hit as high as 1400 before with EFI Live but that is about as hot as I could get it... if I stay below 50% throttle I can stay below 1200 pretty easily... 900 towing on flat ground at 70 and 1100 on the average grade. keep it below 1200 for most hills and try no to hit 1300 for more than a few seconds and things will be fine. That is towing with the 500rwhp tune by mcrat racing. I use the 60hp economy tune for most other towing duties... nice and mellow for good economy but it will rip when you need it to above 50% throttle. it's nice and cool too. Now that I think about it, I'll probably load that tune and run it the rest of the winter.

I would take more pics, the 3" spike lug covers scare people in small cars its funny to watch them steer out of my way. I put my stock wheels and tires on for winter!

Default Tow rig, trailer and 3A

Hopefully this shows up ok. Nothing special about my tow rig. Just a GMC 1500. This is upon return from an outing of flatfenders in August 2008.
