Default paintball gun info

just got two guns in a trade for some trans am parts.. since i just started to play I am going to keep one. but the other not sure what its worth if anyone knows.. its a tippman 68 carbine. tank, hopper. seems like a nice gun a little older.. just checking if anyone knows about it or where to sell it

i also got a 98 custom with a 14" barrel.. and stock one.. and two extra tanks..I plan on keeping and using this gun. and getting rid of the other..

also.. what tank should i keep? i have a 24 oz 20 oz and 9 oz mostly woods ball, play in metamora.

trying to get a pic up but being weird.. anyway.. what do you think i should do with the 68 carbine?

The 68 carbines are a few generations old, from around the mid-late 90s.
The 98 custom is actually what replaced the 68 carbine in (you guessed it) 1998.

Both are extremely reliable and easy to use markers. The 68 was the rental standard for a long time, until the 98 came along, and most fields still use some variant of Tippman marker for their rentals.

Unfortunately, due to their popularity, they are kinda cheap to try and resell. Meaning, you won't get a whole lot of money for either one. Last I saw, a decent 98 was getting between $100-150 with a hopper and small CO2 tank. The 68, I'd say probably around $100. The big problem is that parts are harder to find for the 68 now, since they've been out of production and use for so long.

Even the 98s are a little outdated by the newer, faster firing Tippmans like A5.

I would definately keep the electric hopper. There is nothing more annoying than chopping a ball in the middle of a game and having to take off your barrel and squeegee it out.

Yeah, I'd throw them up on Craigslist or even ebay. The electronic hopper, without knowing the brand, can be pretty useful. If it's just an old VL2000 or a Revolution, they aren't really deal breaking valuable and are pretty much unnecessary on the older Tippmans anyways. The old Tippmans have really slow fire rates and shake enough on their own to keep the paintballs agitated (not jamming up in the feed tube).

If you've got a higher dollar feeder like a Halo or any of the other weird newer style hoppers, you might just want to sell it separate from the gun itself and throw a cheapo hopper on the gun to sell it.

To answer your CO2 question... well, how often do you want to play? If you're out at a field that has free CO2 fills or $4 all-day air or something like that, keep the smaller tank. If you're going out in the backyard and playing with friends or having to go to Dick's Sports to refill your tank every time, keep the larger tank. It's more a matter of convenience than anything. You should see around 5-600 shots out of your 24oz and probably around 300 out of your 9oz.

Out of curiosity, what kind of hopper do you have? I sold my Halo with my old Omen Autococker, along with my Nitroduck HPA. I'm stuck with a bone stock Automag68 (about as old as your 68Carby) with a 12v Revolution feeder and a 20oz CO2 system.

ya i will keep the 98.. but i dont need a spare.. only play every once in a while woods ball games... maybe will keep the 20oz tank.... i would love a compressed air tank but maybe some other day..

hopper is a quantom view loader... thats all it says..
