Default *SOLD*CJ-7 Project, needs finishing

PREFACE: NO TRADES. I have plenty of paintball gear, car audio, computer parts, quads, and anything else I've seen offered up for trade, so Thanks, but no thanks.

Got this thing as a project with the intent of finishing it quickly. Life happens faster than you want it to sometimes, and I just haven't had the time, money, or ambition to work on it. So, I'm offering it up for sale for someone to finish up and have a pretty looking machine with a relatively minor bit of work.

Details...
1984 CJ7 frame and axles (Wide track AMC20 rear, wide track Dana 30 front with disc brakes).
1985 CJ7 front fenders, hood, tailgate, and windshield frame
1995 YJ Tub with gas filler moved and defrost holes cut to fit the CJ parts. All body parts have been primed and painted with Dupont product, Olive Drab color. Tub was herculined inside, all non-body color surfaces were sprayed with 3M undercoating.

Original style late-cj rollbar (not family style) with a front hoop kit, including seat mounts and drivers side 5 point harness anchors. Front hoop still needs to be welded to the rear section and fit to the floor. Also have plastic racing buckets and sliding seat mount brackets for both sides, as well as a 5 pt harness for the passenger side, just no place to mount it yet.

Has the integrated 1" body lift/ body mount from Daystar, but I haven't bolted down the body yet. Have all the parts to do so.

Has a 4" BDS spring-under leaf set, with YJ front springs. Also has 1.5" lift shackles, all with poly bushings.

Has power steering setup in place, as well as power brakes, but the brakes need to be plumbed from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve, as well as the rear brakes haven't been touched. Along those lines, I have a set of solid (1pc) axles for the rear, complete with newer backing plates and brake parts. They need new bearings pressed on, which I believe are A21 bearings, but they can be ordered from Moser Engineering just in case.

Has all of the satin finish black body hinges (door, windshield, tailgate, hood, hood latches) brand new from Omix Ada.

I have both a 258 I6 engine and a 304 V8, both of which I have no clue as to running condition. The I6 was supposedly running when I brought the Jeep home, but I got the 304 for free because "it smoked really bad". I tore the 304 down sent the block to Mid-5 for a hot tank, cam bearing, freezeplug, and hone job, as well as the heads in for basic valve service. Brough it home, threw a rering kit in it, as well as new main bearings and seals, and obviously new head gaskets. Haven't touched it since.

Also have a T5 5 speed manual (wouldn't use behind the I6) and a T176 4 speed manual trans. I have a Dana 300 transfer case currently bolted to the T176, and the adaptor pilot bushing from Advance adaptors is pressed into the 304 crankshaft. The 304 is in the Jeep right now, but just barely. It's held in with the motor mounts and a ratchet strap or two. The trans and tcase are sitting on the garage floor. The passenger side motor mount will need to be replaced as the rubber portion has since torn.

The tires are 34x9.5x15" Super Swamper LTBs on white "wagon" wheels. I only have 4 of them, so no spare. However, the LTBs are pretty much brand new. They still have the little nubby things on them and only have MAYBE 5 on-road miles on them. You can still see the 'Swamper' stamp or whatever on the tread blocks.

I also have a couple tote bins filled with Misc parts that WOULD have gone on the jeep if I had the time or ambition to keep working on it. They are mostly used parts that came with one part or another.

I have the VIN plate from the original body, as well as the VIN plate from the 1985 I got the windshield frame from. I have the title for the original body, but never transferred it into my name, as I had intended on making it an "Assembled" title vehicle. It's legit though, signed by the previous owner and undated if I recall correctly.

As for pictures, here's the whole series from things I've done to it. The guest password is 'jeep' without the quotes.

I'd like to see $2200 for it, as I have ALOT of time and money into it, but I also realize that at the end of the day, I have a non-running project. I will consider reasonable offers that don't involve the word TRADE.

Is everything that is needed to finish this jeep included? If not what is missing?

There's quite a bit missing. I still haven't gone through all of my boxes of stuff to see what I have, what can be used, what can be reused, what I've already bought...etc. So, just thinking through the things that I know I don't have, or things that need to be done to get it running (bear with me, long list)

1. Engine needs an ignition system. Have a distributor, pretty sure I have a module, but plugs and wires are not present. Engine harness needs to be reconnected to all the various sending units and connections, and obviously to the fuse box.
2. Cage needs to be finished: Weld front hoop to rear, install mounting points on passenger side for 5pt harness. Bolt my nifty ammo-can center console to the mount plate. Anchor the front hoop to the floor and/or frame ties.
3. Axles need to be shimmed to proper angle. Shocks need to be measured, purchased, and installed. Brake lines need to be run from the master cylinder (have MC, needs to be bolted on) to the distribution/ combo valve (have line stock, needs to be bent and fitted).
4. Body needs to be attached to the frame. Have the mounts in place and all the hardware, just needs some strong muscle to get everything lined up and bolted down.
5. Needs a clutch kit purchased and installed, then trans/t-case bolted up to the engine. Attach starter, needs new battery, mount, and cables plus installation.
6. Needs new bearings purchased and pressed on one-piece rear axles, then installed.
7. The biggest expense; it needs driveshafts. Front and rear. Not sure on length, could be a stock application, might require custom made shafts... truthfully I don't know.

At that point, I would say you'd have no problems driving this Jeep, entering it in shows, offroading it, or whatever you intend to do with it. The way I look at it, is that someone looking to have a project could find themselves a $500 junker that needs a body, buy a nice $1500 fiberglass tub, and still have a junker with a new tub. Or, for a "little" bit more, they could have an almost done rig with just a little bit more money to spend on it, and have damn near brand new sheet metal to customize with your own tree scrapes (or parking lot door dings, if that's your thing).

PS, don't let the dust in the pic here fool you. That was sanding dust from yet another unfinished project (the '67 Fairlane sitting next to it).

I know it's a hell of a time to try to sell something, but with the shape that this thing is in, you could have a hell of a nice Jeep when you get it done. Save me from my lack of ambition! (Aka today's bump)

Pre-lunch break bump. Entertaining all reasonable offers (still no trades though... I need less crap, not more).

Also, please note the body in the picture set recieving all of the body work is NOT the same red tub that the Jeep came home with. The original body was scrapped and a newer YJ body (bought from Hacksaw) was fixed up and put in place.

Any slightly less than reasonable offers? Lots of lookers, but very few questions.

I did think of one trade that I'd take, but it's a stretch. I'd trade this Jeep and my Ducati Monster 620ie for a Triumph Speed Triple, or possibly a Monster 900 in GREAT shape.

Sorry, I have more tied up in the tub alone than that.

I'm not desperate to sell it. Just looking to clean out the garage and driveway space. But, thank you for the interest.

Buy my Jeep and I'll buy you a year's membership to GLFWDA!

Did I mention that this thing comes with a pair of rusty craptastic full doors that won't close because of the rollcage? Also includes a set of fabric doors that are good enough to keep most of the wind out, but I'm not sure how to keep them closed because they're for the old style latches and this Jeep has the new style latches.
