I went to bed with about 1.5" of snow and woke up to 1/2" of ice. Got to love Pennslyvania

Had fun in the work parking lot though

thread is inappropriately titled. snow storms are not lame. people in fact are.

I drive one of those RWD, small, light weight, 6 speed manual quasi-sports cars. Had no issues this morning, but I was on the road by 5:45 am to avoid all the dumbasses in cross-overs, AWD sedans, and giant sport utes that do not know how to drive so they elected to buy shit with the largest number of "safety crutches"

from stability/yaw control, to traction control, to 47 air bags, to 6 metric ton vehicle weight, to 33" tires stock from the factory, to heated mirrors, and jetted headlight washers (that they failed to take 3 seconds to simply dust the snow off of anyway)

Yeah, I wish it was more acceptable to honk at slow people. The drive in to work today was a frustrating one.

FWD = the devil. I don't know how so many people think it is safe, but they insist on driving 25 mph max.

i drove my F-250 like a little ol' lady last night to and from Ferndale & Royal Oak, it didnt bother me to do so. I did find it funny as i watched a BMW Z3 spin out going up a hill, then causing a 3 car pileup.

A WINTER STORM IS ON TRACK TO AFFECT SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN FROM
THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY. SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO THE AREA THURSDAY
NIGHT...INCREASE INTENSITY TOWARD FRIDAY MORNING...AND POSSIBLY
MIX WITH SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN SOUTH OF M 59. THE POTENTIAL
EXISTS FOR GREATER THAN 8 INCHES OF SNOW AND MINOR ICE
ACCUMULATIONS BY FRIDAY EVENING.

I agree, but find this funny coming from the person that will do 5 MPH under the speed limit on a 70 MPH freeway and tell people who want to do 75 MPH stuck behind you tough shit.

Some day you will realize the world revolves around me and I don't give a shit about you or anyone else.

For the record I am so damn sick of trying to save gas I haven't driven under 80 on the highway traffic permitting, probably since that post.

I was in IL monday night and the roads were clear, people still thought the ice was bad and were going 30mph, someone was passing me, then decided since a car ahead of me was going slow they had to slow down too, now I'm stuck with one asshole in front of me and another next to me, and for using my blinker to say "get out of my way" I got a horn blast. why cant people drive there own vehicles?

When I was coming out of Reno, Nevada they had just lifted chain/4wd restrictions, there was still 2 inches of ice on the road and I didn't even make it a mile before seeing a mercedes spin 4 or 5 times before recovering, luck on the part of the driver, before I even went 50 miles there was a Durango over 100 feet off the road, and it looked like the only reason they stopped was they ran into a dry wash, and within the next 50 miles there were 2 rolled pickup trucks, one of them looked like it rolled multipul times.
When ever I get into michigan people seem to go alot faster than in the other states, though yesterday everyone wanted to run 60 so I got to pass them all.

I bet I was one of those doing about 25 MPH on M59 last year in the last freak snowstorm we had. You may have been the clown I saw passing me in the 3rd lane going about 60, fishtailing all the way. But since you had 4wd, it was okay.

Course, since I only had two wheels period, made for an interesting ride home. Was fun watching cars and trucks hitting the ditches while I rode past however.

I don't care how you want to drive in the winter, as long as you don't endanger anyone else. My biggest bitch is the clowns who don't clean off their windows. You are trying to drive with a small hole cleared off, or just the area of the wiper blades, you should be ticketed for reckless driving. Period.
