Default Remember those Yellow Jeep radios?

Guess what I found buried in the garage ... broken antenna and broken front latch.

Come get it before I pitch it!

Does it work, and do you ever go to Grand Haven? I am interested in this bad boy if it works....

I want it. I'll pay for shipping. I could TOTALLY gut it for a tool box. Or a road-medical box.

Last time I used it worked fine. Just don't have 6 C(or D) batteries to test it right now. No, don't get to Grand Haven much but I am in North Holland ... almost West Olive.

I wouldn't use it for a toolbox since the latch won't stay shut.

I'll pass it on to Dasbrick. I thought it would have a power cord to plug it in.

well latches can be cut off and rebuilt. Stronger, faster, better then it was before. So yep. How much to ship via the back of a snail? Cheapest and slowest, and I will pay it +10% handeling.

I just took a closer look at it last night and it has a jack on the back for a 12V DC adapter.

Honestly, I dont think you can. The bottom comes off (just a piece of hard rubber) to expose the battery, antenna, and adapter storage area. The tool box look is pretty much just a cosmetic shell with a big hole in the bottom.

Though, Im sure you could modify it to work.

Heres what it looks like closed. Pretty sweet. But see that grooved area on the bottom? Thats that removable rubber cover. Im sure you could get a piece of sheet metal to fit right in there.

And definitely swap out that latch. its just cheap plastic. Mines held together with glue, lol.

They are nice radios. I take it camping and to the beach all the time. Ive had people ask me if it was some kind of military radio before.

Cool shit! I still have the Jeep AM/FM radio with the warning flashers, flashlight, toolkit, and first aid kit that has the same looking case.
