the only way that seems possible to me is if you move the ruler vertically, not horizontally, and very slightly

I just drank a v8 then installed a belt from my engine pulley to my front axle yolk, works flawlessly. Anyone want to donate their 4x4 for more tests? You get a free pulley axle yolk setup that will let you drive on water and christmass lights that blink to the song 'Runnin with the devil'.

It looks odd but its pretty simple I think. The rate that the big wheel walks the ruler is different than the little wheels walking the paper, so it "binds". The ruler is still forcing some movement, so the whole contraption moves with the ruler. Fact that it moves faster than the ruler is simple as any 3 piece differential (sun-carrier-ring)
