Default Anyone else here hunt with a revolver?

I am a third generation hand gun hunter. My grandfather hunted with a taurus .357 magnum. My dad hunts with a Ruger super black hawk .44 magnum with a 10" barrel and 2x scope. I hunt with a S&W .500 magnum with a 8 3/8" barrel and 4x leupold FX -2 scope. I have yet to take a deer with mine. I have only hunted with it for two years. I just like being different I guess. Everyone seems to be hunting with a synthetic stock, bolt action rifle, usually chambered in 30-06.

I just went over the weekend and bought a box of shells for mine. I use winchester platinum tip 400 grain hollow points. They went up in price. Now $75.00 for a box of 20!

I really need to get into reloading.

Do pistol cartridges fired from a rifle count?

I bought my colt anaconda years ago with the intention of using it for deer. Never made into the woods with it tho. I actually havent even shot it in a couple years.

.480 Ruger Super Redhawk with a scope

Does it count if I only sit in the woods and get skunked every year?

x3 on the 44 magnum super blackhawk with the 10" barrel, don't use a scope though. I mostly carry it along with a rifle, never shot a deer with it.

So you carry it as a backup weapon in case a rogue deer is charging you and your rifle jams?

I'm going to take my 8" .44 Mag Super Redhawk out hunting some day. I'll bet it'd be awesome in standing corn.

[QUOTEDoes it count if I only sit in the woods and get skunked every year?[/QUOTE]

If it doesn't, then 95% of my hunting must not count...
