If you have'nt change your speedo gear and you are running 31" tires then your speedo is off which will make the odometer off. You need to calculate that.. On mine I have 1994 4.0L 3spd auto, 3.07 gears and 33" tires.. My speedo is roughly 20% off.. I get around 14mpg with mixed driving. You are probably getting 14mpg or better if you adjust for the tire size increase, unless 31's came stock on that Jeep. I also drive like an old grandpa which probably helps. 60mph on the freeway.

True. If the speedo has not been corrected, he's travelling farther and driving faster than he thinks he is.


Lammersman, borrow a GPS, go out on the highway and see what the tach and speedo read when the gps reads 70 mph.
