Yeah, but no matter how you figure it. Less pot will be sold by dealers. This means more tax money for the gov. and less money for criminals. There are also a lot of dealers who make 90% of their money with pot and the rest on the hard stuff. Take away their pot and they have to go get real jobs.

Bottom line is that pot is quite harmless compared to alcohol, which is legal. It helps people with certian conditions, and TONS of people do it anyway. Pot is not comparable to meth, crack, heroin, or acid in any way other than the fact that they are illegal.

I voted no. It allows ANYONE to use it as a viable defense, and there is that part about unregistered people.

If it was for full legalization where the government can tax the shit out of it and make money off of it instead of spending so much to destroy something that will never go away, I'd be all for it.

Isn't this a step in the right direction though? Don't you think that the cops in MI will spend a lot less time worrying about busting people for pot?

You need to read into what the proposal states. The proposal will end up costing much more money.

Quote:
Permit registered and unregistered patients and primary caregivers to assert medical reasons for using marijuana as a defense to any prosecution involving marijuana.
More regulation, more court cases, more money.

haha,

1.) your an idiot - "pot is quite harmless compared to alcohol" - thanks doc.
2.) go back to school, Pot is a mild hallucinogen and has many effects, but good blanket comment on your part. Tons of people do it anyway - your funny "if johnny jumps of a bridge" etc.
3.) I never compared drugs, if you are making that incinuation your a dumbass. I did however say that drug dealers are not just going to say "oh jez pots legal, oh well im going to go get a job." They will just go get other drugs to sell because that is their business.

X2. But what about the "health-care providers"? (The botanists, both legal and illegal) They're just going to dip into their plants and resell underground. I can almost hear it now...

"Oh, um... what other ounce of weed? I only grew 3 ounces this year...

So how many Alcohol-related violent events, including car accidents, are there vs. marijuana-related events? Given, many less people smoke pot, but it's absolutely obsurd to say that pot spawns violence. Go to a house full of pot smokers and tell me what the atmosphere is like. I'm guessing laid-back and quiet. A house full of drunks will almost always include a fight and/or semi-violent confrontations. If you truly would rather drive with someone who is drunk rather than stoned you are a retard. If you would rather try to subdue a drunk than a stoner, you are also a retard. About dealers just switching to other drugs. Do you think that if the government started giving out free beef, that the stores would just start selling more chicken and ham to make up the difference? If there are 100 dealers each making 1/2 of their money on pot, they can't just switch to another drug and make the same money.

Also, how often do you hear of people dying by smoking too much pot? Pot also makes you hallucinate about as much as booze. Have you ever been around pot smokers or smoked pot?

Exactly. Prices will go down. Bad for dealers. Good for everyone else.

I believe the purpose is for "medical use". The dealer on the street would be unaffected.

fucking stoners
