1. Marijuana is no more or no less harmful than alcohol. We should have learned from prohibition, trying to wipe out use completely, creates more problems than it solves. Yes marijuana is a gateway drug, the only way to close the gateway is to legalise and regulate its use.

2. I am not a religious nut so this is a easy choice for me.

I disagree that it's a gateway drug. Maybe it is, but it's also inherently the first drug anyone ever tries (aside from alcohol). In other words, people who are of the mindset to consider hard drugs are almost always going to try pot first anyway. There are plenty of people who've smoked pot (hell, people who are full blown potheads) and haven't done other drugs.

The problem with current law is when people use marijuana, it all to often has other things in it, without their knowledge. If it is legalised that stops.

And when the law says marijuana will fry your brain, and puts it on the same shelf as harder drugs. Kids often don't believe how bad things like acid are because they were lied to about how bad marijuana is.

fail. if you add something to marijuana, you tell that person and charge them extra. other drugs may have additives in them, but pot is pretty hard to add stuff to without the smokers knowledge.

I quit smoking pot 13 years ago, largely because I bought a joint that had been laced without my knowledge. Is it common practice probably not, but it can and does happen.
