"This ring will lay your Dana 300 transfer case flat and are 3/8" thick.
Just what you need for that added ground clearance.
All hadware included.
$67 Shipped TYD lower 48**"

So this ring will let me run it up side down to turn it in to a drivers drop

It should allow you to flip the case, yes. And the 300 is an oil slinger so it should lubricate fine. However, you would need to consider fill/drain plug and proper oil amount. Also, seems most people I've seen do this go to cable shifted twin sticks since it's easier to route and mount them.

It has definitely been done before though with success. Search around and I'm sure you'll find a write up.

Just make sure to read up on it as much as you can before making any decisions. I only know that it's been done, so I know it can be done. However, every application is specific. An XJ with an auto may be slightly different fitting than an XJ with a manual, or a TJ, or...

The links I posted were just some of the first to pop up when searching Pirate. Read as much as you can about ALL your options so there is as little surprise as possible. There may very well be better solutions out there
