Default Snipers Considered To Control Deer Population

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. - Snipers from the Oakland County Sheriff's Office are part of the latest proposal to help the city of Rochester Hills quell the problem of car-deer crashes and complaints of deer damaging landscaping.
The city said they have seven-times the amount of deer than should be within city limits.
The city council discussed with Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard about providing snipers, at no cost to the city, for a controlled hunt.

isn't there enough wooded areas that they could have a limited, by drawing only bowhunt?
How pedantic

I would volunteer for this. The campus at OU was riddled with deer, some decent bucks too. I ran one over with my jeep at 25 mph. the dumb fukc stepped out in front of me and stared. he was surprised when i knocked him down.

So they're going to pay to take care of it, instead of issuing permits for responsible hunters to pay and then take care of it?

Makes PERFECT sense.

Why does there have to be a government answer?
Why can't there be a sporting answer?
It's the urban mindset.

The guns, ammo plus the officers time would be getting used at the range no matter what. Yes I think its dumb that they don't want even bow hunting, but this seems like a better idea then doing nothing or the other idea of lights and reflectors.

Maybe reading is a lost art, but let me clue you in on something...It's Oakland County Sheriff's Deputies not city cops so you are not on a list to get anything from them...And another thing I would rather see professionally trained snipers, whom I might add train to shoot in an urban environment take out as few deer then let bow hunting to be allowed within the city limits. That’s all those residents need is a bunch of amateur ass necks running around in realtree camo thinking they’re Fred fucking Bear….

What if the deer don't want to wear the reflectors?

They should just do a hunt annually and continue manage a healthy population. The biggest impetus is that sportsman would be part of the solution. Some groups find that unacceptable.
