Default Outboard Mechanic

Bought a Boston Whaler with a 96 Johnson 90 outboard motor. the seller stated the "motor doesnt run". I will be doing a look see on the motor for massive / obvious reasons for "doesn't run" ( compression check, spark, holes in the pistons, etc) however when I get done with the obvious does anybody have a trusted mechanic that won't anally probe me ($) if I have some repairs done.

Ok, but if it has a hole in one of the pistons, I don't want to get it running and have another! :-)

I have a friend that is the head mechanic for Lakeside motorsports. He is very very good at what he does and I know he does alot of work out of his own barn. The guy knows everything from boats, motorcycles, cars, trucks, to big rigs. He can custom build anything. If your interested in taking a little trip I'm sure he would look at it. I'm not sure what he would charge though. I know beer would have to be included.
