Talking O.S.T.C. Wants to thank everyone who came out in the rain for the jeep jamboree!

As a result of the turn out even in the rain we are inviting all jeeps & trucks to our Halloween Party Oct. 11 for hills climbs. We will also be open all winter for anyone who wants to try the hills in the snow.
Thanks again!

didnt Jim K. and others already discuss that?

people would like to see LARGE rocks and LARGE quantities of rocks. rocks that are bigger than 3' in diameter are what we are talking about. make a completely rock trail that is 100yds+ long and winds through the woods and varies from 8' wide to 20' wide and has lots of elevation changes, as much as 30' on a hillside or just 8' on flat ground so there are many challenges within just the rocks being there. you dotn just have to get over the rock, you have to get over the rock that is 3' taller than the one before it and then the back side drops off.

get what I'm saying?

in regards to......
more trails
rock crawls
rocky hills
cleaner bathrooms
cheaper admission

as far as the trails go we have 125 acres of private property surround by miles of state trails for you.
as for the rock crawls that all cost $$, & if all goes well it will come soon. We are not sponsored by any organization or State funded, this is all on our dime. If you would like to start a donation to get it going sooner great!!
We do have a rocky hills
Our bathrooms are old but they are always clean, we clean then 3 times a day. if you unfortunately came in when they were dirty.....things happen & just maybe the person who came in before left the mess...it is a public bathroom.
the admission is comparable to Badlands, except we are located in mid Mi. Great lakes 4x4 club added an extra $5.00 fee per vehicle, the money was then given back to your club.
If any one is planning on comming to our Halloween gig. Oct 11th the fees are as follows....Camping $20.00 per night, $20.00 for a one day pass, $30.0 for a 2 day pass, $40.0 for a 3 day pass & passengers or spectators are not charged a fee if you are camping here. There are no added on fees for this one.

The badlands is also 7 times as large... and most of the state trails are absolutely no challenge, and if they are they are illegal to us. They also already have the challenge areas, I need something to draw me to your place, Attica IN isn't much farther for alot more wheeling for the same cost. Nothing against your place, I went in December, but still a little out or proportion.

You have the terrain and a lot of fun, but unless rocks are moved in people will bore quickly, and likely not return.

Very cool that there's no added fees and I look forward to having deep snow this winter!

btw ... I don't think Great Lakes 4x4 is considered a club.

I don't understand that if there is monitary donations or contributions towards building more obsticles then what are our enterance fees going towards? Overhead, upkeep? Maybe it's none of my business, but I'm just wanting to clarify before I contribute my hard earned dollars ... this is MI and we're all feeling it.

Is it going to take another volunteer weekend to get things moved around? Because that would cost me money that the park wouldn't necessarily benefit from. ie. gas, travel expenses, food, etc.

I'm not trying to push the point, but I think a lot of here thought the last 3 really big trail rides were meant to raise interest in the wheeling community, and to raise funds for you. We (as wheelers) spent a fair amount of time and money at your park, bringing up friends that hadn't even heard of OSTC...

We were hoping that that money raised during the last 3 runs would be used to improve the terrain of the park... building trails, importing larger rocks for very cheap resources in Michigan (Alpena for one). We really haven't seen a whole lot of improvements though. Some rocks were placed in a small ravine and others on the side of a sand hill, but nothing enough to have customers drive 2.5 hours @ $4.00/gal from metro Detroit.

Without improvements, I'm honestly not sure how many people would return. I think you have a great piece of land, and an awesome opportunity. You even have "experts" from here that are point blank telling you what they would want done with the property to grow interest in the park, but none of it has been done yet.

I really am looking forward to seeing more rocks at OSTC. Your general area is somewhat centralized to draw customers froma lot of Michigan regions, however, you need a reason for us to come there. There are already sand runs at St Helen and Rose City areas. We all know there is plenty of mud everywhere you go. What the region needs is a nice trail system with rocks and elevation changes. You have the elevation changes, you just need the rocks.

GREAT on the no extra fee for passengers...that was crazy...I hard a hard time paying $5 each for my 10 and 12 year old boys to ride with me.

But am I reading the "fine print" to be saying that is only the case if "you are camping here?

irace4money (Dino?), from your website I can see you have a great amount of attractions for the bike and quad riders and in my opinion that's great. They are clearly showing up in large numbers and why wouldn't they you have moto-x tracks for different ages and abilities, stunt ramps and all the trails as well.
I have never run my Jeep at any parks except yours and the Mounds. I have spoke to others who've been to the Badlands, as well as your place and from what I heard you don't hold a candle. That makes sense as the Badlands is established, which is why people will pay the rates they have. I attended the first two events at your property and skipped this last one, after the second time I became bored rather quickly and with zero improvements saw no reason to waste my money on a third trip.
I hope all works out with the bikes and quads, it doesn't matter if you make improvements or not, I will not go back to your property, it's a shame, because I have family in Glennie and could certainly frequent your area.
My hard earned dollars will go to the Badlands, Twisted Trails and if it materializes, the park in Harrison.

I'm not understanding the concept on comparing OSTC to other parks like the Badlands aside from maybe the fee, which sounds like it has been explained and is attempting to change.

This is MI and the purpose here is to get another established park in MI. Comparing it to the Badlands or Drummond is just idiocracy, defeating the purpose, and bottom line is that it won't compare ... this property is waaayyyy smaller.

The point is to make this place an attraction to go to and enjoy a full day of wheeling. BUT, in order to do that ... yes, there needs to be a little more for the full size rigs to enjoy ... like more rocks. (There, I said it again.)

edit: My wife's Grandfather owns 100+ acres in the Brandon/Groveland area and I couldn't imagine trying to pursue a bunch of larger rigs to go there to play unless there was more to do .... like big f*king rocks to climb.
