oh come now... the new Tundra (a REAL truck - snicker) can tow 11,000# with its small little motor. if Toyota made a 2500# truck it would EASILY be able to tow 14k #.

Like Iroman, I too have weighed my YJ. Loaded up with tools and spares, it's in the 4600# range. I tow it in a 20 ft enclosed trailer that weighs a little over 4000#. Add in another 1000 pounds of crap and I'm pushing 10,000 pounds. I pull it with a Chevy 1/2 ton with the 6.0 Vortec max and 4.10 gears. It tows it fine but there is no way I would try to pull more with that truck. My truck is set up much better for towing than the truck you are describing.

So, trying to give you a real life comparison, don't do it.
