OK, my brother was riding my 2005 KFX 400 over the weekend and now it wont run.
It starts up just fine, but once warmed up it stalls. The coolant is also really low, I just noticed so I will add some tomorrow. I know it wasn't low before last weekend.
It has a pretty new sparkplug and fresh gas. He swears he didn't ride it that hard or roll it.

Any ideas?
I dont want to check the sparkplug because I have to take the gas tank off, I will if I have to.

real quick check the gas tank vent line!! pull it off the cap and blow through it!! if it is plugged it will run fine for a few then once all air is gone from tank it won't run!

OK, I changed the oil, cleaned the airfilter, and topped off the coolant. I also checked the vent line which was fine.

Its doing the same thing, once warmed up it dies.

Looks like your brother owes you a trip to the dealer to fix it.

We started taking it apart, looks like he got mud in the cylinder.
If its not too bad, time for a 440 Big Bore kit

Thanks, but its mostly put back together. Not sure what the actual problem was, but I ended up with a BBK 440 and hotcams. There was some mud in the bottom end, I think he stalled in under water/mud and it came in the exhaust. I quit working on it once the snow got too deep to ride it.. I just need to put in a new head cover gasket and it should be ready, again.
