This again?

It was Deano's idea, not ours. He explained to us on friday night how he ran these comps with ATV's this summer and thought it would work for us too.

He was supplying the awards, not us.

The only thing we promised was camping, wheeling, and a fire.

Most folks have (had) enclosed cabins, heaters and windhield wipers. Yes you might get damp but if you used your head. Then you could of wheeled all day without even getting wet.

What if it had been in the 90`s with the sun beating down on you. Risk of sunburn would put you on the trailer ?

Rain IMHO is not an excuse. Somewhere I think there is a bigger story.

Sorry Sue,
I don't see it that way. Making durogatory remarks about "hardkore" and stating that there is a "bigger story" strikes me as an effort to stir the pot. There were "hardkore" folks that came over to OSTC from the gig and had a great time, and they aren't complaining. There were people who camped at OSTC that are not complainig.

The only person making an issue about this is someone who never attended the outing at OSTC. Why do that? IMO, it's purely to stir things up and I don't think there is much that would change my opinion.

Personally I'm a bit frustrated. I made a commitment to RJ and Murph that I would be at OSTC all day in the attempt to host gig visitors and be there if there were any issues that needed attention. Therefore, I didn't come to the gig and actually my wife was dissapointed that we didn't get to the gig or get out on any other trails. Due to the rain, I also didn't get to see half the people there. Then there's the issue of the owner not following through with promised improvements.

Top that with an asshat trying to stir the pot and my patience is done. I'm done trying to please people who really don't get it. This will be my last post in this thread. I don't care if John replies or not, I won't respond.

Sue, this is not a stab at you. Please don't take it that way.

Holy cow! This thread sucks.

I apologize for not making it to OSTC, it was something I planned on and was looking forward to doing, but got caught up in staying busy at the gig. I missed seeing and talking to a bunch of you.

This all needs to be put behind us now and get back to the basic wheeling.

Canada, here we come.

Stan i no nothing of all that stuff and im not refearing to that . Im talking about people , egos sites blocking sites . None of that is conducive to wheeling .

Thats the imginary competition i refer too . Wheeling is about getting together and , well wheeling .

Monkey had no reason what so ever to associate my name with this horse puk post other then some artificial jealousy issue he must have regarding me .

Like Jim , i wont bother with this frat boy crap any further . Have a damn nice damn .

Know we had a good group head over to OSTC and they seemed to have a good time. Like Tippy bit busy at the Gig, plus not able to wheel just yet, shoulder would most likely let me know that was a bad idea.

Saw the pic of the group righting Erin's rig. Did the guy at the front face plant when the rig moved? He looks to be flat out over the rut.

Instead of looking at what you deem as negative by me leaving, you should probably look at all the hard work put into making OSTC open to 4x4 owners. a year ago today, that place was not accessible by anybody other then deano's close friends and dirtbikes/quads. There are no legal trails in the LP of Michigan that rival OSTC, and I'm sad that you have to lash out like this. You haven't been to this website in over a month, and I find it odd that you show up with your posse to try and create issues, but in the end you just end up looking like an idiot.

I didn't have anything to do with people hanging out at the event. I did all the legwork to make sure it was reserved and took care of some other behind the scene items to make it go smoothly.

As far as I know, everybody who was there had fun, well as much fun as you can have in a monsoon.

I'm sorry you're upset that I left at 4pm on saturday, but my jeep was broken, I didn't have a top, my tent was soaked, and I was looking forward to a shower and some dry clothes. I don't think me leaving had any negative effect on the 62 rigs that showed up saturday, or the 31 rigs that were there camping for the weekend. I think 93 rigs and over 150 people was a great turnout for the absolutely horrid weather that was going on. I know over 20 people called to cancel their camping reservations on thursday and friday because of the weather. Some may have stayed in hotels.

I shouldn't have made the remarks I did in this thread last night, so I removed them.

I did earlier, then received pm's that I was "hiding information" from (you can guess) so I'll just leave it.

Its sad a few must create so many issues, but I guess that's life.

I received a pm (actually 2) from justsawdust on glfwda informing me how we had blown our opportunity at OSTC, we let everybody down because the drag races didn't happen, we should have known that there is nothing to do there & people would get bored and basically that we mishandled the entire weekend & therefore there are a bunch of people dissapointed in Kelly and I.

This came from a person who has never been there and experienced the obstacles.

So, tell me, who DIDN'T have a good time? Please don't consider the weather or owner, neither of which we can control.

I was going to give out a strap to the worst stuck of the day, but I would of had to give it to one of the six people in my motorhome watching football as everyone who wasn't a duck had left for dryer ground. Sorry for your dissapointment John!

To the rest of you, see you on the trail someday!

Love,
Pat

i was hoping this second gl4x4 ostc outing would provide me with a chance to meet more of the people that post here. the last time, i met some great people, due to my own inexperience i guess you could say. i was looking forward to meeting more, but the rain did seem to have a damper (i'm mostly just using that as an excuse cause i am somewhat shy when it comes to meeting new people). however, i feel that for those that stayed, it made things interesting and enjoyable. i know there was a group of us that were standing around the hill climbs a little after the drag race plans fell through, just watching people try to make it up the hills, especially the allpro crew they ended up breaking both of their xj's but they seemed happy to just be out there doing it!

and even though i wasn't able to bring my jeep, i still had fun riding with my friends, meeting a few new people, watching others, and just escaping for a weekend. my friends and i look forward to when we have rigs capable enough & the experience to accomplish what many others of you have already i hope the "old timers" stick around to show us the ropes, cause when it comes down to it i friggin love the sport.
