great truck you will not be disapointed.

I have owned a 99.5 Super duty with a V10, pretty good power, but a terrible gas hog. mixed driving I would get 10-11mpg, towing 7K 6-7.5mpg. I also owned a 05 F250 pstroke, great power averaged 13-14.5 mix driving...but getting into throttle a lot I now own a 05 Duramax, and I hate to say it....Im a ford guy all the way but its been a great fuel mileage and power truck. I averaged 18.5mpg coming back from silver lake, and typically average 15-16mpg city driving. If you can afford a diesel I say go for it you will be happy you did. And if you cant afford the upfront increase in cost of a diesel, it will make up later on due to diesel trucks resale being considerably more then gassers.....good luck

If you get gas, the only one i would want is a Chevy with the 8.1. Personally, a 7.3L diesel is the way to go though...

2000, 118k miles PSD auto XLT, the guy maintained better than I could ever hope for. Monitored the coolant, trans fluid every 35k, stanadyne or power service, Rotella 5-40 synthetic, etc, etc. No rust anywhere, everything works, clean interior

Awesome! Get some better picks when the weather breaks. You will love the 7.3, one of the best diesels ever IMO...

now that the title transfer is complete I dont mind telling how much I paid. Got it for $8500. I have no doubt that 2 years ago this would have been a $16-$20k truck. Just a sign of the times I guess. People on craigslist with these trucks listed for $10-$11k are sitting on them, and if they owe $10-$12k they're begging you to come look at their truck. I even got a dealer down to ~$11k for a 2001 2500HD crew 4x4 chevy with 70k miles (gasser) that was MINT condition before I found this.

The more I drive this thing the more I dont think theres any timebombs ready to go off in it. Its just a nice truck for a great price

Im down under 1/4 tank of fuel right now, headed for a fillup tonight. Wish me luck

fuels not cheap for these trucks. used mine this weekend for work and the company paid for the tab. the only reason i ran it to the u.p this weekend. 145 to fill it up. thats my duramax. but i love it to death. do an intake and some kind of programmer and it will be night and day difference! you will think your in a damn race car! exhaust adds alot of power to for what it is. better mileage as well.

I was told a few years ago that meijer was actually pretty good quality premium diesel.

Nice truck!! Wish my 2500HD Crew Cab was a diesel....... Oh well. I'd give you 10 for that truck if I could get rid of mine.

i drive my diesel 250+ miles a day with a big diesel welder behind it, and I will never have another gasoline powered car/truck/anything again. our 03/08 duramaxes are the best riding/driving trucks i have ever been in, and when you go that many miles in a day comfort is key. plus, if you tune it you can smoke out those fags on bikes that ride around wearing spandex, I smoked out a fat girl walking in marion, and 2 fag bikers on us 10 with my tuned ctd chevy this week.

Good looking truck! Now how about a 10" lift and some 40's?

Seriously, any plans for modifications to it?
