94 chevy transmission shifting problem

v=8 auto stock,stays in drive in all gears even reverse and park it stays in park but you can tell its still in gear all forward gears work good ,in reverse it still goes forward and in nuetral any ideas

shifter linkage fell off the valve body? pull the pan and look. will it shift through the gears or stays in high gear?

x2 Or the forward clutch is so burnt that it locked itself up.

it shifts 1st,2nd,3rd, od

then it will down shift all fine you can tell it is in drive while in park ....but pak does work

Did it work fine before the fluid change? I suggest pulling the pan back down and make sure the filter didn't smash or pinch any wiring.
